..."In conclusion let me pay the following frail tribute to the memory of one of your best citizens and one of my best friends: 'Mr. Jordon Rees was born in King William Co., VA June 18, 1805, and when small moved to LCT with two brothers. He was married when quite young to Miss Martha Edmondson, and soon afterward he joined the M.E. church in which he led a consistent life until he was called to his reward on high Nov. 16, 1881. He was a man of good mind and firm disposition; he was a safe counselor, and was ready to do any thing that was of interest to his neighbor; He was a true friend to the poor, and truly a Christian. Cemetery Listings give death date as 1861. According to this article, and the date of issue, I believe that the 1881 is correct. (Sherry S. Finchum)
