Birth: 1827 Death: 1914 EDWARDSVILLE INTELLIGENCE 6/5/1914 WORD WAS RECEIVED IN EDWARDSVILLE THURSDAY TELLING OF THE DEATH AT DECATUR ON WEDNESDAY OF WILLIAM SIDNEY RANDLE, 81 YEARS OLD, FORMERLY A RESIDENT OF ALHAMBRA FOR MANY YEARS. THE NEWS OF THE DEATH CAME WITHOUT DETAILS. MR. RANDLE, HOWEVER, WAS KNOWN TO HAVE BEEN AILING. HE SUFFERED FROM A COMPLICATION OF DISEASES RESULTING FROM OLD AGE. MR. RANDLE WAS A BROTHER OF MRS. MARY WILLOUGHBY, 92 YEARS OLD, OF COLLINSVILLE. THE FATHER OF THE TWO WAS JOSIAH RANDLE, ONE OF THE ORIGINAL MADISON COUNTY SETTLERS. THE RANDLE FAMILY, THEN COMPOSED OF NINE MEMBERS CAME TO MADISON COUNTY AND SETTLE IN THE VICINITY OF ALHAMBRA THEN CALLED GREENCASTLE IN 1824. MRS. WILLOUGHBY IS THE ONLY SURVIVER OF THE FAMILY.
