Kathleen Wooten Sorrells, 95, of Asheville, passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, while at the John F. Keever Hospice /Caretakers, Asheville.
Born Dec. 24, 1911, in Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Wooten and Annie Eloise Baldwin Wooten. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sorrells was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Evan Sorrells; daughter, Derotha Blaukovitch; two brothers and three sisters. She enjoyed gardening.
Mrs. Sorrells is survived by a son, Roger Sorrells, and wife, Bobbi, of Lincoln City, Ore.; two daughters, Janice Creasman and Carole Brezeale, both of Asheville; sister, Louise Jenney, of Gorham, Maine; six grandchildren, Blenda Kalua, Todd, Blake, Jeff and Shawn Creasman, and Trudy Conner. Also surviving are eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral for Mrs. Sorrells will be held in the chapel of Williams Funeral Service and Crematory, Asheville, with the Rev. Terry Duckworth officiating.
Interment will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Asheville. Todd, Jeff, Blake, Shawn and Justin Creasman, and Tim Conner will serve as pallbearers.
Arrangements are entrusted to Williams Funeral Service and Crematory, Asheville.
