  Mary Wilda McKenzie Abernethy Birth 18 Mar 1903 Death 31 Oct 1972 (aged 69) Burial Houston Cemetery Houston, Chickasaw County, Mississippi, USA Memorial ID 26416241 Printed in the Times Post, Houston, Mississippi dated November 2 1972 Mrs. Abernethy to be Buried Thursday Mrs. H B Abernethy, member of a long prominent Houston family, died at 5:30 pm, Tuesday, Oct. 31, in the Grenada County Hospital. She had been hospitalized several times recently in the same hospital, and re-entered Monday a week ago. Mrs. Abernethy was the widow of the late H B Abernethy, well known Houston attorney, who died Feb. 21, 1971 in the Grenada County Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted from the Houston Funeral Home Chapel sometime Thursday (today). Mrs. Abernethy was a member of the Houston Presbyterian Church. She was the former Miss Mary Wilda McKenzie, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. D L McKenzie. She was born at Fayetteville, Tenn., and lived at Okolona as a young girl. She had resided in Houston since 1924. Mrs. Abernethy is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Raphael (Mary Evelyn) Semmes, Jr., of Grenada, Mrs. Owen (Joyce Ann) Jones of Meridian and Mrs. Linn (Patricia Lynn) Murphree of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Adams of Houston and Mrs. L M McNatt of Farmington, Michigan; and one brother, Bert McKenzie of Starkville.
