Hi, my name is Austin Gray and my great great grandfather (Latimer Gray, 1865 - 1944) was the same generation as your great great grandmother, Nancy Florence Teague (1874 - 1939). The remarkable thing about our match is that their surnames go back to when my 4X grandfather, William Gray (1754 - 1816) was married to your 4X grandmother, Sarah Teague (? - 1837).
As you likely know, Sarah was one of Joshua Teague's daughter's and I have many source documents in her profile in my family tree, including her name as the Administrator of William's estate, Newberry County, SC (he died without a will), and her will, dated 1834...just 3 years before her death in 1837 in Fayette County, GA very near to where I now live.
I was fascinated to see the Teague family name as far down as your great grandmother. Most matches I have with Teague descendants are a few generations earlier at least. My late father's brother (my uncle) also took the DNA test and he has more Teague matches than I do. He is identified as J.G. and should show as one of your matches (I administer his profile).
If you have any information from family records or from your research regarding "my" Sarah's place of birth and year of birth, I would truly appreciate anything you could share. We think she was born in NC before Joshua fled that colony after the Regulator Rebellion in which he took part. That means her birth year may have been circa 1770. Also, if you know whether the first Teague immigrants came from Ireland or England, please share any info about that important piece of our family history.
Again, please feel free to view my family tree and examine any of the source documents which you might find helpful. It is nice to meet yet another cousin via the Teague line!
Thanks and best wishes,
Nathaniel Austin Gray (b. 1951)
James Gray, my uncle
