BEAVERTON, Ala. Effie Sue Gosa Sorrells, 93, died Friday, Nov. 28, 1997, in Beaverton, Ala. She was born May 3, 1904, in Lamar County, Ala., to the late Tezzie Brown and Sam Gosa. She was the wife of the late Rev. Howard Lee Sorrells. She was a homemaker and a member of the Taylor Springs Freewill Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Taylor Springs Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. M.H. Hollis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent, Ala., is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one son, Hershel Sorrells of Beaverton, Ala.; three daughters, Jean Birmingham of Sulligent, Ala., Ann Hankins and Charlene Cooper, both of Beaverton, Ala.; one brother, Clarence Gosa of Aberdeen; one sister, Ruby Gray Smith of Vernon, Ala.; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, five step grandchildren, seven step great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Eugene Sorrells, Randy Hankins, Wayne Sorrells, David Hankins, Gary Sorrells and Clanton Dubose.
