VIRGINIA BEACH: M. Joan “Joann” Jackson 75 of Goolagong Drive passed away June 10, 2006 in Norfolk. Born in Newport, TN to the late Joseph Daniel and Sally Finchum Gregg. She was the widow of the late David L. Jackson and was also preceded in death by a brother, John R. Gregg. Joann retired as a bookkeeper with the A.M. Corporation and also served as a former secretary with the Chesapeake Widowed Persons Association.
She is survived by a Step-daughter, Lisa Jackson Cunningham of OK; god son, Christopher Bridgeman of Norfolk; sister-in-law, Peggy Gregg of Norfolk; a niece, Melissa Gregg Lange and her husband, Perry and their children, Sara and Tyler all of Virginia Beach; an aunt, Louise Pack; Uncle Fred Finchum, and two cousins, Vicky Humphrey and Eddie Pack all of Knoxville, TN; also dear and loyal friends, Annette Johnson-Young and Peggy Cissi Smith both of Chesapeake, and Ricky Knecht of Virginia Beach.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. Burial will take place at Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to The Diabetes Institutes Foundation, 855 W. Brambleton Avenue, Norfolk, VA 23510.
