NOTE 2: It has been been noted that in 1665 Roger Hodge (Hodges) b 1618 in England came from Bermuda in that year on "boat Truelove" this came to light because of DNA match for Linage I and he settled on Julian Creek Norfolk County, Virginia.

Son, Robert Hodges b 1704 in Henrico County, Virginia Planter, 09 Feb 1727 Deed ½ of 400 acres of Land Patented , North Side of James River.
Son, Welcome William Hodges was one of the first of the Hodges family to receive a Land Grant in Goochland County. 400 acres on 27 Jun 1734 North of the James River.(Sir Willam Gooch was Govenor of Virginia 1727 ~ 1749 he parceled out land in Goochland County, Virginia for growing tobacco.)
Son, Edmund Hodges was the second member of the Hodges family to receive a Land Grant in Goochland County. 400 acres on 08 Sep 1736 North of the James River.
Son, John Hodges, b 1708 ~ d 11 Oct 1805, purchased 200 acres on BYRD CREEK from JOHN COBB, on May 19,

OCCUPATION:
Planters, Farmers, Timber men, and Coopers. They also produced Tar Pitch for the naval stores. They grew Tobacco and Hops and food for the local markets. Thomas Hodges Family had a Hops Garden, he learned the trade from his father who had a Hops Garden in Kent England.

THE HODGES FAMILY BEGAN IN THE UNITED STATES IN THE COLONY OF VIRGINIA. THE EARLIEST ANCESTER SEEMS TO BE That of THOMAS HODGES I AND WIFE CHRISTIAN, OF CUMBERLAND CO. VIRGINIA. THOMAS HODGES I LEAVES A WILL THERE IN 1749.
HIS SON THOMAS HODGES II AND WIFE ELIZABETH FLEMING REMOVE TO PRINCE GEORGE CO. VIRGINIA.
THEY HAVE THREE KNOWN CHILDREN;

THE OLDEST FLEMING HODGES WAS BORN ABOUT 1765. FLEMING MARRIED ELIZABETH BETSEY POWELL , THE DAUGHTER OF EDWARD POWELL ALSO OF HALIFAX CO. VIRGINIA. THEY WERE MARRIED IN April 14,1792. In Halifax County, Virginia.THOMAS HODGES III DIED IN THE YEAR 1808, LEAVING A LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT LISTING ALL OF HIS KNOWN CHILDREN.
