• Notes

  The other older brother became Herbert Leon Bostic. He married Mary Lee Dickie who died 6 months later of influenza in 1918. He is listed as widowed in the 1920 census working back at the Tennessee Industrial School in the Dung Room - I think. He later married LM Payton and named his daughter Mary Lee. LO Bostic witnessed one of the marriages. The family is listed in the 1930 census in St Louis where my mother, Marion June is also living with them after her mother died. Her father, Lee was in the Navy and had Herbert take care of her until he remarried.
