Funeral services for Chelsea Howard Sorrels, Jr., will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at Blackwater Baptist Church in Daleville, MS. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Chelsea Howard Sorrels, Jr., 96, passed away at his home in DeKalb, MS on Monday, April 24th, 2017. Mr. Sorrels was a member of Blackwater Baptist Church where he was a deacon, Sunday School leader, and choir member. He proudly served in the Royal Canadian Air Force, the United States Army Air Forces, the United States Air Force, and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Chelsea Howard Sorrels, Sr. and Mary Lorene Wright Sorrels; his wife, Arnette Mosley Sorrels; his brothers and sisters, Ed Sorrels, Billy Sorrels, Margaret Smith, and Virginia Bonner; and his daughter-in-law, Elaine Quarles Sorrels.
He is survived by his four children, David Sorrels and his wife Joy of DeKalb, Margaret Cade and her husband Billy of DeKalb, Pat Larkin and her husband Kenny of Gulf Shores, AL, and Peggy Landrum and her husband Buddy of Butler, AL; his nine grandchildren, Natalie Gibbs and her husband David of Flowood, MS, Ben Cade of Seattle, WA, Cheslie Larkin of Gulf Shores, AL, Amy Bass of Meridian, Chip Sorrels and his wife Morgan of DeKalb, Lindy Wood and her husband Jason of Freeport, FL, Jimmy Larkin and his wife Annie of Livingston, AL, Heath Landrum and his wife Hope of Auburn, AL, and Chase Landrum and his fiancée Erin Fowler of Starkville, MS; and his fourteen great-grandchildren, Alex and Will Gibbs, Charlton and Brooklyn Sorrels, Madeline and Ethan Bass, Paxton, Kenlee, Weston, and Piper Wood, and Caroline, Ella Grace, Monroe, and June Larkin.

Westonwood Ranch is an emerging Florida non-profit organization whose mission is to use the medium of agriculture to provide meaningful pre-vocational training and social opportunities for children and young adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. The facility will include a multipurpose learning center, a covered equestrian arena, and a 3,000 sq. ft. aquaponics green house for skills training and employment opportunities. Located in Freeport, FL, the pre-planned development was inspired by Mr. Sorrels' great-grandson, Weston Howard Wood.
