Mr. Cecil E. Ingle, 93, passed away Monday, April 4, 2011. A native of Claiborne County, TN, Cecil was a US Army veteran of WWII, and worked in textile mills for much of his life. He was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church in Newport, NC, enjoyed baseball and loved to whittle. Cecil was preceded in death by his son, Kent Douglas Ingle in 1974, his wife, Lou Frances Richardson Ingle in 1992 and his grandson Mark Richard Ingle in 1998.
Cecil is survived by his daughter, Cherry I. Street, of Talladega, AL; sons, Clarence "Sonny" Ingle and wife Jean of Newport, NC; and Van Richard Ingle, of Six Mile, SC. He is also survived by his brothers, Chester Ingle and George Ingle of Seattle, WA; Earl Ingle, of New Tazewell, TN; Tom Ingle, of Pigeon Forge, TN; sisters, Cordia I. Long, Georgia I. Payne, Judy I. Massengill, of New Tazewell, TN; and Lillian "Sis" Ingle, of Pigeon Forge, TN. Cecil is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday at Westville Funeral Home.
Graveside funeral services and burial will be 1 PM, Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Greenville Memorial Gardens. A celebration of Cecil's life will be held at a later date at Grace Baptist Church Newport, NC.
