- Sidney Herbert Frederick Hilton. DOB: 22 Aug 1896, Cleveland, OH. For various relative health reasons (TB and respiratory issues), that bunch moved to So Calif after 1900. His father was Washington Hilton, 1857-1945. Washington was born at Lancashire, England, and moved to the U.S. in his early 20's. Sid's mother was Caroline Lutz, from Germany.
Sid was about to get his wings to fly in WWI, but the Armistice was signed and he was released. His business then was mostly auto sales. I have him in all the Census's, except 1940. 1910, L.A. 1920, ditto. 1930, Yuma, AZ. Their divorce was approx. 1936 or a year or two later. Last solid address was 501 Raymond AV, Ocean Park, CA. But he lived at Yuma & Phoenix several times in that time frame.
Supposedly the divorce was registered at Ventura County, CA about 1936-1940.
His daughter claims he lived at times at Chicago, TX, Louisiana, etc.
He had, reportedly, more than one Soc Sec #, and one was obtained at Houston, TX and was 449-18-7063. I think I have him in 1937 at Houston, but by then he was changing his name around and either using Herbert or Frederick and almost never Sidney.
