Looks like the first member of this line arrived from from Shropshire, England, before 1600. It appears there were eight generations of Weavers in Virginia BEFORE George Washington Weaver was born!

By 1824 George had moved to Maury County, Tennesse where he married second, Elizabeth K. Freeland on March 6, 1825. Elizabeth, Daughter of James Dinwiddle Freeland and his wife Nancy Strayhorn. Her paternal grandparents were James and Sarah (Dinwiddle) Freeland and her maternal grandparents were John and Elizabeth (Johnston) Strayhorn. The Weavers moved from Tennessee to Calloway County, Kentucky ca. 1841. In 1855 the Weaver family moved to Shelby County, Texas where they settled in the Buena Vista Community. In 1856, George W. was postmissioned as a Notary Public. He was elected and Peace of Precinct No. 9. On Nov. 19, 1867, he was appointed Sheriff. His next political position was on the Board of Appeals, to which he was appointed on Nov. 1, 1872. It is said that George W. was able to speak German and had a thick accent throughout his life. George and his wife, Elizabeth are buried in unmarked graves in Weaver Cemetery.
