- Mrs. Mildred Sorrell Dodson , 85, of 8 Mayapple Place, widow of Howard William Dodson , died Monday night in Duke Medical Center.
Mrs. Dodson was a native and life- long resident of Durham. She was a graduate of Bethesda High School.
She was also a graduate of the Watts School of Nursing, class of 1935. Mrs.
Dodson was a member of Watts Street Baptist Church where she be- longed to the Tillman Bible Class.
Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, 11 a.m. in Watts Street Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. T. Mel Williams. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery, An- nex B, Section 16.
Surviving are a son, Dr. W. Edwin Dodson of St. Louis, MO.; daughter, Jane E. Dodson of Durham; grand- children, Anna Elizabeth Dodson Csuti of New York, N.Y., William Edwin Dodson Jr. of San Francisco, CA.; Jason David Dodson of St. Louis, MO., Stephen Gage Dodson and Matthew Sorrell Dodson , both of Vail, CO.; brother, Garland Sorrell of Durham; two sisters, Doris Bledsoe of Hillsborough and Margaret Medlin of Durham.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, 7-9 p.m. at Howerton & Bryan Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family re- quests that memorials be made to Watts Street Baptist Church, 800 Watts St., Durham, N.C. 27701.
