Mildred Bankson, age 88, of Mystic, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the Homestead of Centerville, Iowa.
Mildred was born July 25, 1927 in Pollock, Missouri, the daughter of
Alfred and Jessie(Glasgow)Crouse. She married Don Bankson on December 31, 1953.
She was employed through McGraw Edison for many years. She loved to fish, cook, and holding babies. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and spending time with her family.
Mildred is survived by her children, Linda(Dennis)Hammack of Elsberry, MO, Judy Stokke of London, England, Deborah(Brian VanBlaricon)Fenton of Mystic, IA, Kevin(Debbie Swayne)Bankson of Centerville, IA, Craig(Michelle)Bankson of Centerville, IA, Donna(Rick)Zaputil of Mystic, IA; a brother, Keith(Margaret)Crouse of Like Thunderhead, Unionville, MO; 14 Grandchildren and 21 Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son John Bankson; a daughter Denise Repp; a great-grandson, Wyatt Dean Voth; a granddaughter, Faith Repp; siblings, Milford Crouse, Forrest Crouse, Leo Crouse, Paul Crouse, Farrell Crouse, Edna Hill, Dorothy McNabb, Juanita Crouse, and Wayne Crouse.
A Celebration of Life Service will beheld at 12 pm, Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Mark Waits officiating. An open visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 am to 12 pm. Inurnment will follow the service in the Highland Cemetery, Mystic, Iowa. Memorial contributions have been established to the Lemons Community Center in Lemons, MO or Highland Cemetery and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
