Franky was a name of Adline's aunt. Adline was name of her mother. Adline was daughter of Vincent Ingle and Adline Ingle, first cousins, and both born Greensboro, Guilford, NC. These Ingle branches are recorded in the Brick Church records of Guilford County, NC where many of their ancestors were ministers of that church. Vincent and his wife settled with their children in Greenup, Cumberland, IL. She was the wife of James Albert Moyer and mother of Albert Wilson Moyer who married Viola Belle Arendell. Adline was my great grandmother. Visit the Greenup Cemetery in Greenup, IL to find several ancestors of Franky Adline Ingle Moyer. Adline married first Benjamin Franklin Gooch in Greenup, Cumberland, IL. Adeline and Ben had four children and three of them died as infants and toddlers. One of their children, Alan Gooch, lived to age 13. He was buried at Greenup Cemetery in Cumberland County, Illinois. It is believed that Adeline and Ben's children died as a result of a disease happening when the parents don't share compatible blood types. Nowadays, blood tests are required before couples marry in order to avoid bringing children into the world who have this disease.
Missouri death certificate 16722 with husband, James Albert Moyer of Holcomb, Missouri as informant.
James Albert Moyer stated Adeline was daughter of Vincent Ingle and Adeline Vincent. However, this is incorrect. The legend that passed down through my branch was that Vincent Ingle and Adeline Vincent, his wife, shared a name. James must have thought that Vincent was the name they shared since sharing the Ingle name would have suggested they were related. Indeed, that was exactly the circumstance. Vincent Ingle and his wife were first cousins. Adeline Ingle, wife of Vincent Ingle, was surnamed Ingle and not Vincent. Vincent Ingle and his wife Adeline Ingle [maiden name] Ingle [married name] were baptized at the Brick Church in Guilford County, North Carolina.
A new headstone was erected by great-granddaughter Christine Moyer Lacey on 10 September 2010, and it was seated directly in front of Adline's original headstone. The new headstone makes it easier to read the name and dates that had eroded.
