Mr. Slade's funeral is set for 2 p.m. Friday at George L. Gay Funeral Home, with burial in Memory Gardens. He was born April 9, 1933 in Iowa City, the son of George and Edith Teague Slade. He graduated from University High School, and married Donna Mae Bryant Nov. 16, 1952 in Iowa City. He was a partner in Slade Brothers Roofing Company. He was affiliated with the Coralville American Legion, Homebuilders, Iowa Roofers Association and the Midwest Roofers Association. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Steve and Philip, both at home; his father, of North Liberty; nine brothers, Russell and Donald, both of Coralville; Robert and Richard, both of Iowa City; and William, Raymond, David, Daniel and Michael, all of North Liberty, and a sister, Shirley, also of North Liberty. His mother and a son preceded him in death.
