Betty Jo Johnson, age 79 of Tullahoma, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. She was born on February 23, 1937 in Lincoln County to the late Able Monroe and Mattie Crane Sorrells Hale. Betty Jo was a devoted homemaker, and she attended King’s Cross Church in Tullahoma. She loved her grandchildren dearly and enjoyed listening to Christian Music, especially the Gaithers. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Gene “Pete” Johnson; sons, Michael Gene Johnson and Barry Lynn Johnson; and brother, Houston Buddy Hale. Betty Jo is survived by her son, Terry Wayne Johnson of Tullahoma; daughter, Cathy Jo Johnson Cunningham of Tullahoma; grandchildren, Cody Quick (Mindy Denise Wilder), Brandon Quick, Chasitee Quick, Shelby Lynn Johnson, Shayla Leann Johnson, Shyana Lashea Johnson, and Samuel Lee Johnson; great-grandchildren, Colin Quick and Braxton Burian; and sister, Nancy Majors of Tullahoma. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Monday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel.
