Geary, 84, passed away at 7 a.m., Sept. 18, in Dumas. Her home was at 1122 Porter Street. Mrs. Geary had lived in Dumas for the last 66 years. She was born June 23, 1882, in Greenville, Texas. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Dumas. Mrs. Geary is survived by one son, J.C. Geary, Clayton, New Mexico; four daughters, Mrs. Maysel Burnett, Lamar, Colorado, Mrs. Willie McClary, Mrs. Lula Mae Record, and Mrs. Mattie Lee Powell, Dumas; two sisters, Mrs. Iva Farmer, Dalhart, and Mrs. Edna Lamb, Spearman; 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at the First Christian Church, Dumas, with the pastor, Rev. Joe N. Lacy, officiating, assisted by Rev. Jeff Hassell. Burial was in the Dumas Cemetery directed by Boxwell Brothers of Dumas. (Published in Borger News Herald, September 21, 1966)
