Troy Everett Freeman

BETHANY
Troy Everett Freeman, of Bethany, OK, went to be with the Lord on April 8, 2020. He was born July 16, 1939, in Rush Springs, OK. He was the oldest of four children of Merle and Margie Freeman. Troy graduated from Putnam City High in 1958, and later joined the U.S. Navy, where he served for six years. He graduated from OU in 1966, and went on to work at Lucent as an electrical engineer for 35 years before retirement. In 1962, Troy married Judy Ritter Freeman, and enjoyed 58 wonderful years together. They attended Windsor Hills Baptist Church, where Troy was both a deacon, and a beloved SS teacher. Troy loved OU football, coaching football, woodworking, biking, weight-lifting, and polar plunging in his own backyard. Above all else, Troy was a deeply devoted husband, dad, and grandpa. He will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know him. Troy was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Margie; and brother, Bruce. Troy is survived by his wife, Judy; sons, Keith and wife Penni, Craig and wife Rhonda, and Kyle and wife Tammy; 11 grandkids, and 10 great-grandkids; sister, JoAnn Beaver, husband Joe; brother, Gene Freeman, wife Beth. The family would like to thank the extraordinary caregivers at Storey Oaks Memory Care and Physicians Choice Hospice for the loving care that they provided for Troy. Once allowed, a memorial service will be scheduled.
