Robert J. (Bob) Stramp, of Midwest City, died on Wednesday, October 20, 2004, at Midwest City Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Bob was born February 11, 1930, in Perryton, Texas, to William Robert and Frances Stramp. He married Peggy Wegmiller on August 11, 1950, in Enid, Oklahoma. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Peggy, his children and their spouses, Ryan and Martha Stramp of Anchorage, Alaska, and Barry and Christi Stramp of Norman, Cindy and David Treadway of Edmond, grandchildren, Nick and Robin Stramp of Anchorage, Paden and Abigail Treadway of Edmond, his sister, Lucille Voss of Stillwater, his brother, Bill Stramp, of Irving, Texas, and several nieces and nephews. Bob retired in 1993 from the Headquarters Communications Systems Center at the Oklahoma City Air Force Station after working for defense contractors and 33 years of military and civil service. During his career, Bob was involved in the design and installation of systems for communication, navigation, radar, missile and air defense. Bob and Peggy lived in Texas, Hawaii, Guam, Massachusetts, Alabama, Colorado, and New Mexico, before returning to Oklahoma. During his retirement years, Bob enjoyed spending time with Peggy and his grandchildren, working in his garden, and pursuing his interests in electronics, videography, and developing computer-based multimedia educational software.
