Cecil Everett Leatherbury, 93, of 707 Skyline Drive, Huntsville, died April 9, 1998 at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born December 23, 1904 at Sisco, the son of William Wesley and Lillie Mae Cox Leatherbury. He was a retired retail merchant and had also retired from Elkhart Products Corporation in Fayetteville. He was a member of the Huntsville Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a fifty-year member and past master of Huntsville Lodge #364, Free and Accepted Masons, a member of Huntsville Chapter #154, Royal Arch Masons, a member of Huntsville Council #77, Royal and Selected Masters, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason in the Western Arkansas Scottish Rite Bodies at Fort Smith and a member and past patron of Huntsville Chapter #487, The Order of the Eastern Star. He was preceded in death by a son, Dale E. Leatherbury on November 11, 1995 and by an infant son and daughter.
Survivors include: his wife, Mrs Raye Reynolds Leatherbury of the home; one son, William F. "Bill" Leatherbury of Charlotte, North Carolina; two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Susan Leatherbury of Charlotte, North Carolina and Mrs. Suzanne Leatherbury of Wendell, Idaho; three sisters, Mrs. Tiny Mendenhall of LaCrosse, Kansas, Mrs. Orpha Freeman of Hutchinson, Kansas and Mrs. Margaret Brown of Garden City, Kansas; two grandsons, Bill Leatherbury and Drew Leatherbury, both of Charlotte, North Carolina; and four granddaughters, Miss Sarah Leatherbury of Charlotte, North Carolina, Miss Katie Leatherbury, Miss Janese Leatherbury and Miss Michelle Leatherbury, all of Wendell, Idaho.
Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 13, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with President Jack Rightsell officiating. Masonic rites were by Huntsville Lodge #364, Free and Accepted Masons. Interment was in the Huntsville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Justin Copenhaver, Benn Rightsell, Stephen Bond, Brian Weickersheimer, Kevin Foster and David Meyers.
Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of the Huntsville Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
