Cecil Ivan Duke is a son of Joseph Willard Duke and Amanda Margaret Lain and grew up on a farm in Wingo, Kentucky. During the war he was drafted into the Army Air Corp and served at Sheppard Field Base in Wichita Falls, Texas. After discharge from the military, he lived in Jackson, Mississippi with an Aunt and Uncle while he looked for employment, which he found in Michigan working the the manufacturing and automotive industry. Cecil and his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Ruth Yates, were married on 3 September 1950 in Mississippi. Per their obituary they lived in Warren, Michigan for 55 years. They are survived by two children and three grandchildren.
