Samuel Neely and his wife Nancy Simpson lived in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Their daughter Elizabeth was born there in 1794. She married Thomas Lowry Beacham (1792-1865) around 1817. Thomas and Elizabeth came to Louisiana with her parents around 1819, and then to Mississippi in the 1820s.
