Died at his home on the Frank Thrall farm at about 11 o'clock Monday night, September 16,1895, James William Davis, aged 34 years, 9 months and 18 days.
The deceased was born in Ohio, November 20, 1860, and was married to Lucy Blair February 7, 1888. Three sons were born to them the oldest being about six years.
Mr. Davis was a kind and loving husband, an affectionate father, and an excellent neighbor. He was very quiet man, one who never made any trouble. He was an honest and honorable in all business dealings, and had the respect and esteem of all who knew him.
He had been ailing since last Thursday but was not considered dangerously sick. He seemed much better at supper time on Monday, but passed away without speaking a word at 11 o'clock that night. His ailment, the one that caused his death, is throught to have been heart disease,
The funeral services were held at Prairie Chapel Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. A.W. Beegle officiating. and the remains were interred in the cemetery near the church.
