DAVIS, HERMAN GRANT, age 89 of Friendsville, died Saturday, October 17, 1998 at Randolph Hills Nursing Home in Kensington, Maryland. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Blount County Farm Bureau. He was a retired dairy farmer. He was preceded in death by 1st wife, Laura Knight Davis; 2nd wife, Lena Davis; parents, John and Nola Goddard Davis; brother, Roy Davis and half brother, Troy McNeilly . Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Hermenia Jane and Ralph Lake of Rockville, Maryland; daughter, Sandra Duggins of Ferndale, Michigan; step-daughter, Susie Allison of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; six grandchildren; half brothers, Henderson McClanahan , Iran McClanahan , S.M. McClanahan , all of Maryville; sister, Ellen Tittsworth of Murfreesboro, North Carolina. Funeral services are at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, 1998 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Jim Thornton officiating. Interment will be following the service at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 919 N. Michigan Avenue, Suite 1000, Chicago, IL 60611-9501. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, 1998 in the Trinity Chapel. Smith Mortuary, Maryville in charge of arrangements.
