"On the 15th instant, the Superior Court of Law, for the District of Washington, was opened at Jonesborough. - during the term, Absalom Morris and Welcome Hodges were tried and found guilty of Burglary, and on Thursday last they were executed at Jonesborough, pursuant to their sentence."
William Hodges left a wife Agnes Gentry and two children:
(1) Amos Hodges, b 21 Jan 1790, Tennessee, d 15 May 1869, Warrick County, Indiana, FAG Memorial # 25261197 he married Catherine Staton b 20 Sep 1790 d 22 Jun 1869 Warrick County, Indiana, FAG Memorial # 25261275.
(2) Gentry Hodges b 04 Jul 1791 in Tennessee, d 25 Aug 1863 in Greene County, Indiana married Mary Staton b 26 May 1805, d 26 Aug 1874 half sister to Catherine Staton.
After her husband was executed Agnes took her two children and move in with her parents, Joseph G. & Agnes Shelton Gentry.
