Funeral services were held Thursday, May 28, at Garner-Harper Funeral Home Chapel. The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Abernethy of Houston, Mrs. Semmes attended Mississippi State College for Women and graduated from the University of Mississippi. She was associated with Grenada Junior Auxiliary, Grenada Garden Club, Explorer's Bible Study, 20th Century Club, National Pen Women's Association and Delta Gamma Fraternity Alumnae Association. She was a member of Central Church. Survivors include one son, two daughters, two sisters, and four grandchildren.
