BROWN, EDWARD J. SR. died Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 4:48 p.m. at the age of 81 due to complications from bladder cancer. "Ebbie" as he was called by his siblings was beloved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed to our dying day.
Ed is preceded in death by his father, Henry Olaf and mother, Edna Brown; as well as his brothers, William C. "Dub" and Oliver Brown; his sister Wilma Shipley and great granddaughter Teirstn Brown.
Ed is survived by his wife of 40 years, Bobbie Brown; sisters, Ruth Shipley, Shirley Ivester and Mary Lutterull. Ed is also survived by his 7 children, of his first wife and their mother Shirley Brown: Henry Olaf II, Julie and Shirley-Rose; of his widow Bobbie and their children; Kenneth, Kathy, Edward J the second and William C. "Dub" the second. All told, Ed Brown was the patriarch of two families; and has 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Ed was a member of Victory Baptist Church; he loved his religion in Christ our Lord and goes to be with his loved ones in heaven where he awaits us all. As his surviving loved ones we pay tributes of respect and love to a dignified man; who believed in a simple life and was an honorable man of the classic era. Ed believed in working hard to provide for his family. He did so for almost 40 years as an electrician with The IBEW local 760. After being retired a little while, Ed decided to go back to work as head of maintenance for McDonalds at two restaurants in Roane County for 10 years. A huge UT Vols fan; he was a lover of boxing and sports in general. Among his favorite pleasures in life was music, films and fishing...which is great because they're always biting in heaven. We Love You Ed, may you at last know peace, see you over there.
