- Sons of Allin Davis: Vincent Davis, from which my branch of the family tree originates, is known to be the second son of Allin Davis and UNKNOWN Vincent. Aaron Davis is the oldest son, and there is a possible link with a Levi Davis as another son of this family. I have not found any records of other sons or daughters of Allin at this time. The first name of Vincent's wife is not known, but Vincent Davis had many sons that became the progenitors of a large number of sons and daughters, making up a greater family who lived primarily in central Mississippi. Later, my branch of this family came to Texas, first to Lamesa, Texas, and then on to other areas of the state.

Misti Hinton Vincent Davis LAND: The Davis family lived near Fanning's Creek in Union County, South Carolina just prior to moving to Mississippi.
In 1801, Vincent's wife is Elizabeth, and on Nov. 27, Vincent Davis is recorded as selling 25 acres to Peter Bentley, Union Co., SC During this transaction, Elizabeth relinquished dower rights BkG pp214-15 Union County.
One researcher, Jean McSwain writes on April 6, 2002 in a Genforum post that Vincent sold the Fanning Creek property in 1835 to George Smith (340 acres) Bk Y p. 234, Union County (it is noted as land of Nathan Vinson) and purchased property near Sharon, South Carolina in York County on the Smith Branch of Bullocks Creek (this from a plat of Land Grants showing the transfer of land.) Vincent died in 1854. His wife through the 1840 census was named Elizabeth (based on her signing away her dower rights on deeds). There is a Vincent shown to be married to a "Margaret" in the 1850 York County Census, the area of the new land purchase. Stacy Vinson, a VINCENT/VINSON Genealogy researcher reports that Vincent Davis lived on land belonging to a Nathan Vinson/Vincent in the early 1800's in Union County, SC, which points to a relationship between the Vinson/Vincent and Davis families.
