- 3 Sep 1717. This day Mr. Robert Burton of Sussex County upon Dillaware petitioned the Court for administration of the estate of his son-in-law (step-son) Perry Leatherbury late of this County deceased, he dying intestate and he the said Burton being the greatest creditor and Edmund Leatherbury, brother and heir at law of the said dec. being present in Court did consent to the same, therefore Ordered that letters of adminsitration be granted the said Robert Burton, he giving security as the law directs and representing Mr. William Bruton and Daniel Welburne as security.
