“In the name of God amen.
I, James Deale of Ann Arundel County in the province of Maryland being under some bodily affliction but in perfect mind and memory so make constitute and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. Viz: Imprimis I will and order my Executor hereafter named to pay all my just and lawful debts and demands that may come properly against me.
Item. I give and bequeath to my bellowed son WILLIAM DEALE eighty acres of my land to be laid of to him at the upper end of my land next and adjoining the land of Mr. Joseph Bottright ___ from gotts Creek to the line of the land formerly called Ranger to him and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten but for want of said heirs my will is that the said eighty acres of land go to my son JOHN DEALE and his heirs forever.
Item. I give and bequeath to my beloved son JOHN DEALE all the remaining part of my land to him and his heirs forever.
Item. I give and bequeath to my son JOHN DEALE one negro man named Daniel with all my wearing apparel to him and his heirs.
Item. I give and bequeath to my daughter MARGARET NORMAN one negro boy named Herculus and the mulatto girl named Nan to her and her heirs.
Item. I give and bequeath to my daughter MARY COALE deceased her two children Philip Coale and William Coale five pounds apiece in any thing belonging to my estate excepting a young negro if it be paid in money it shall be in common money as it passes.
Item. I give all the remaining part of my estate after my debts and legacies are paid to my several children namely THOMAS DEAL, REBECCA MEDCALF, ELIZABETH BRUNT, JOHN DEALE, WILLIAM DEALE and MARGARET NORMAN to be equally divided amongst them my Will farther is that what is remaining to my daughter REBECCA MEDCALF in the division of my estate to be paid to her at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named and not to come into the hands of her husband John Medcalf but to her towards the support of her and her children. My Will farther is that my Executor keep all my estate in his hands twelve months after my decease and if there should be any cost in the estate that time that the estate shall bear the cost not my Executor.
My will farther is that if any person or persons should sue for any part of my land then my said sons John Deale and William Deale shall be equal in the expense of the cost of said and Lastly I so nominate and appoint my son John Deale to be whole and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other Wills heretofore made by me in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal this eighteenth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy three.

Came John Norman and Benjamin Norman two of the subscribing witnesses to the within will and made oath that they saw the testator herein named sign and seal this will and heard him publish promonure and declare the same to be his last will and testament and that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehensions of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding and that they together with John Peacock the other subscribing witness to the said will in the presence and at the request of the testator and in the presence of each other. “
