Miss Lula Margaret Chick married Samul B Herron on 15 December 1901 at Curtis, Oklahoma. Following their marriage, they moved to Archer City, Texas.
Mrs. Sam B Herron, one of Archer City's most beloved and respected pioneer citizens was making preparations with her husband to go to Wichita Falls to spend Thanksgiving with a daughter and family.
She was a devout member of First Baptist Church where she became a member in 1906. Mrs. Herron will be missed will be missed by the membership as well as loved ones and her countless friends in Archer County. She has earned her place in God's eternal home prepared for HIs "good and faithful servants."
Services were held at First Baptist Church with her former pastor, Rev. E.J. Gregory of San Antonio, Texas. He was assisted by Rev. Earl Allen.
Survived by her husband; eight daughters and two sons - Mrs. O.B. Rust, Jr., Mrs. W.C. Kunkel, Mrs. Frank Haley, Mrs. Jim Jennings, Mrs. George Abercrombie, Mrs. Edward Nicholson, Mrs. Julia Patterson, Mrs. Selby Johnson, Sam B Herron, Jr, Perry E Herron; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters - Mrs. J.H. Turbeville and Mrs. C.R. Cowan; two brothers - John Chick and Dow Chick.
