Bill Shaw, age 78 of Stafford, KS, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020 in Grand Island, NE. He passed away comfortably with his wife by his side.
Bill was born on September 10, 1942 in Stroud, Oklahoma to George and Nan Shaw. Bill graduated from Yale High School in 1960. For three years, he served in the Air Force stationed in Germany.
Bill and Okema were married 49 years and raised three sons, who blessed them with five granddaughters. He enjoyed camping and having his daily coffee visits with his farming buddies. Bill was always excited to see his granddaughters and couldn’t wait to take them to breakfast for “Poppy Time” while their parents slept. He was known for always wearing his Poppy hat with pride.
Bill worked for NL Industries for many years, but spent the end of his career working in the Air Conditioning and Heating industry. He retired from the maintenance team at Larned Mental Health Facility in 2007.
He was active throughout his retirement as a member of the Stafford City Council as well as a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Bill is survived by his wife Okema; their son, GW, and his wife, Kristy, and their three daughters, Abby, Emily and Maggie; his son, Ray, and his wife, Daniella, and their two daughters, Gabi and Olivia. He is also survived by his sister Nanette and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was proceeded in death by his youngest son, Cam, as well as his parents, George and Nan Shaw.
