John Sliger
John Slyger was a son of Johann Georg Schleicher and his wife, Maria Elizabeth Rausch, and grandson of Georg Caspar Schleicher and Anna Margarethe Heurich. He was an early settler in what would become the state of Tennessee in 1796. His will was dated 18 Apr 1817 and proven July 1818 in Washington County, Tennessee. His children were: Mary Ingle; John Sliger; Henry Sliger; Adam Sliger; Catherine Brown; and Christopher Sliger.
The Will of John Slyger

In the name of God, Amen
I John Slyger of the County of Washington and State of Tennessee being of sound mind and perfect memory (Blessed by God) for his unlimited mercies do this eighteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventeen make and publish this my last will and testament in the manner of following, that is to say, after paying my just debts I do leave and bequeath unto my beloved wife Cathrina Slyger all my real and personal estate during her natural life or widowhood and at her decease or changing her name to be equally divided among my six children, Mary Slyger, John Slyger, Henry Slyger, Adam Slyger, Catherin Brown and Christrian Slyger with what they have already borrowed (that is to say) Mary Ingle hath rcv'd thirty three dollars & one third of a dollar John Slyger hath rcv'd one hundred & sixty six dollars, two & two thirds of a dollar, Henry Slyger hath rcv'd twenty three dollars & one third of a dollar. Christian Slyger hath rcv'd fifty dollars any surplus property that my wife Cathrina may not want may be sold by my executors hereafter named for the use and benefit of my said wife and I do make and ordain my worthy friend Alex R Mathis and my son Adam Slyger excecutors of my last will and testament. In witness whereof I the said John Slyger have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal the day and year above written. Signed sealed published and declared by the said John Slyger the testator as his last will and testament in the presence of us who are present at the time of signing and sealing thereof.

The foregoing Will of John Slyger was proven in open court by the oathes of Jacob Brown and Nicholas Pring two of the subscribing witnesses thereto at July sessions 1818 and ordered to be recorded. Alexander Mathis and Adam Slyger qualified as executors to the foregoing will.
