Randall passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, after battling pancreatic cancer.
Randall was born on December 27, 1962 in Davenport, the son of Marvin and Loretta (Huber) Bankson. He married Kris Dahlquist in August of 1991 in Davenport. They were later divorced, but remained devoted parents. He owned Snelling Personnel Services in Moline. He attended Marycrest College where he received a degree in accounting. Randall enjoyed tennis, biking, animals, and swimming. He was a free spirit and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Our father, Dooby, was the definition of a loving man. No matter what he was doing, he would drop it all to care for his loved ones. Dooby spent most of his time whipping his two daughters in tennis (or so he said), walking his two dogs through trails, or snuggling the cats he couldnÂ’t say no to. Some of our fondest memories of Dooby come from the times he was being his carefree self. His dance moves, jokes, and love of laughter could definitely light up a room. Although he left too soon, his legacy lives on through all of the hearts he has touched and memories made. We love you so much, Dad.
Survivors include his daughters; Hannah (fiancé, William Daniel) Bankson of Des Moines, IA, Haley Bankson of Iowa City, IA , mother; Loretta Bankson of Davenport, brothers; Robert Bankson of Los Angeles, CA, Ronald Bankson of Davenport, Eric Bankson of Phoenix, AZ, sisters; Lori (Brad) Hambright of Davenport, Renae (Todd) Renihan of Vernon Hills, IL, Marla (Robert) Brewer of Davenport, Trina Bankson of Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin, a nephew, Nicholas Brewer, and uncles, Wally, Larry and Don Bankson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
