- I am still looking at the Census records of Wake Co., NC to link him to a father. William's Census of 1790 lists 5 males and 1800 only lists 4 males. John was old enough to be living on his own, but marries after 1800. Needom was in GA in 1801.
The Pettigrew Manuscripts list children of Elijah as: John, Needom, Matthew, Curtice, Elijah, and Jacob. I believe these children to be the sons of William.

Four King families and one Sorrell family were enumerated in consecutive households in the 1830 Lincoln Co., TN census. The only Sorrell listed is Needham Sorrell, 00110001-00001001. The household included 1 male 10-15 years old, 1 male 15-20 years old, 1 male 50-60 years old, 1 female 20-30 years old and one female 50-60 years old. Needham Sorrell was enumerated after Ephraim King. After Needham Sorrell are Joshua King (50-60 years old), Ebenezer King (15-20 years old), and another Ephraim King 1001-1001, who was 30 years old and the father of Nellie King, William Sorrels' second wife. William Sorrells would have been 20 in the 1830 census and we know he was not married until 1832, and thus could have been the male 15-20 years old in the household of Needham Sorrell in 1830. Particular to the GA birthplaces of Isham and William. I believe that they were both Needham's sons.

Sorrils? John 371
I believe that the name of Needham may have originated with the following family:(from: “HISTORICAL SOUTHERN FAMILIES” Volume I by John Boddie)
The only know child of Capt. Robert and Rebecca was John Sorrell mentioned in the will of John’s son Thomas Sorrell dated January 12, 1725. Thomas bequeathed to his son James Sorrell “the land in James City County which my honored father John Sorrell devised to me.”
There MIGHT be another son name William Sorrell of Elizabeth City. Inventory of his estate signed by his wife Sarah Sorrell was filed there Dec 18,1689. Division of the estate gives a part to Sarah Sorrell, widow; to John Sorrell at Mr. Needhams; to George Sorrell; to William and Thomas Sorrell at John Naylor’s. John Naylor and Edward Lattimore (Could this bee Larrimore?); to Elizabeth Sorrell at Mr. Johnsons; to William and Thomas Sorrell at John Naylor’s. John Naylor and Edward Lattymore ordered to return and account of the estates o fthe orphans of William Sorrell, September 11, 1693. (O.B. 1689-99. P 9-119-124-129) John Naylor, in his will dated September 29,1694, probated Oct 10, 1694, gives a legacy to Thomas and William Sorrell. Next Edward Sorrell of James City Co., who on June 10, 1703, with his wife Alice, “executrix of the will of Benjamin Goodrich, gent., late of said county, decd. “made a deed to land in James City adjoining Mr. Sorrell and Mr. Hamlette.
