  ASTONIA - Mike Messer, 62, passed away Oct. 5, 2014, at his home. He was born Sept. 17, 1952, in Gaston County, son of the late Strawder Messer and Anna Pearl Martin Messer. Mike is survived by his loving wife, Songkran "Dang" Messer; brothers and sisters, Robert and Barbara Messer; Shirley Turner, Ruth Seagle, Anna Chambers, Houston and Toni Messer, Donnie and Laura Mes-ser and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, J.D. Messer and brother-in-law, Johnnie Turner. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Tuesday at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 South York Road, Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Robin Harris. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:45 p.m. before the service at the funeral home. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 1102 W. Walnut Avenue, Gastonia, NC 28052. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia. A guest book is available to sign online at www.greenefuneral.com.
