IRA F. DAVIS, 72, DIES IN HOSPITAL
Ira F. Davis, 72, of 922 E. Cook St., a resident of Springfield for the last 25 years, died at 8:15 p.m. yesterday at the Memorial hospital following an illness of two years.
He was born Oct. 15, 1876, at Ridgeway and married Julia Clapp, of Olney, on Sept. 14, 1898. He was a member of the Christian church. Mr. Davis formerly was a janitor at the Pleasant Hill school.
He is survived by his wife, Julia; seven daughters, Mrs. Edith Collins, Mrs. Alberta Keen, and Mrs. Vivian Richards, all of Springfield; Mrs. Nora Tilford, Williamsville; Mrs. Alta Jones, Raymond; Mrs. Goldie Nelson, Decatur, and Mrs. Fern Barrington, Cantrall; two sons, Otis and Fred, both of city; two brothers, Thomas Davis and George Davis, both of Eldorado, and 20 grandchildren.

DAVIS - Remains of Ira F. Davis, of 922 E. Cook St., are at Vancil funeral home (north side), where they may be viewed from 9 a.m. to time of services Wednesday, and where memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, and at 2 p.m. at Foursquare Gospel church, Rev. Loren Wood officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn cemetery.
