Dorothy Gail Beasley, Age 83. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Christ the King Catholic Church on Belmont Boulevard. Burial will be at the family plot in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Beasley is preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Everett Lyn Beasley. Died Saturday, March 8, 2008 in Meridian, Mississippi, where she had resided with her daughter Mary Ann. In lieu of flowers, family members request donations be made to the Catholic Relief Services or Father Ryan High School. Mrs. Beasley was a former Nashville resident who lived in Green Hills. She was born in Walker, Minnesota where her parents owned a vacation resort on a lake. She grew up in Minneapolis and later worked for Northwest Airlines as an airline stewardess. Mrs. Beasley met her husband on a flight from Seattle to Anchorage in 1947. Resigning her stewardess career, Mrs. Beasley spent the next 14 years traveling the world as a military spouse. In later years she and her husband resided at Ten Mile Lake in Northern Minnesota. Mrs. Beasley was an active member of the Bellewood Garden Club and volunteered at the Ladies of Charity. Survivors include her five children, Lt. Col. Skip Beasley of Franklin, Steven Beasley of Laurel, Maryland, John Beasley of Brentwood, Mary Ann Varela of Meridian, Mississippi and Lt. Col. David Beasley of Charleston, South Carolina. Mrs. Beasley is also survived by nine wonderful grandchildren, Philip, Rachel, Lauren M., Kelly, Michael, Christopher, Lauren A., Cristina and Ben, also survived by her brother, Bob Smith of Denver. Visitation will be Monday, March 10, 2008 from 4-9 p.m. at MARSHALL DONNELLY COMBS
