- Obituary for David L. Sorrell
David Lon Sorrell, 61, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2015. Visitation will be Thursday evening, June 11, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2015 in Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel with interment following in Perry Memorial Gardens.
David was born on March 12, 1954, in Jacksonville, Florida. David received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Dayton. At the time of David's unexpected passing he was employed in civil service at Robins Air Force Base as an Electrical Engineer. A community servant, he was an Eagle Scout and Co-Founder of Central Georgia Soccer Association where he coached youth soccer. David's passion was helping others and spending time with his loving family. He was preceded in death by his father, John Collier Sorrell.
His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife of 38 years, Janet Wootten Sorrell, Warner Robins; mother, Evelyn (Townsend) Sorrell, Miami, Florida; son, Michael Alexander Sorrell, New Bern, North Carolina; daughter, Stephanie Christine Sorrell, Warner Robins; brother, James Lewis Sorrell, Miramar, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
