Anna Ruth Mike age 76 of Middlesboro, KY passed away Sunday January 22, 2006 in East Tennessee Baptist Hospital in Knoxville, TN. She was born in Lee Co. Virginia the daughter of the late Henry and Nora Irvin. She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Grover Irvin, Thomas H. Irvin and Kenneth Irvin. Two sisters: Martha Estes and Mary Lou Ingle.
Ann was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother who died peacfully with her family by her side. Ann retired from nursing after 29yrs of service from Evans Hospital and Middlesboro Clinic. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age at Hardy's Creek Baptist Church in Lee Co. Virginia.
Survivors include her husband Ernest Mike, children: Lawanna (Ken) Clendaniel and David (Tina) Mike. Five grandchildren: Niki (Larry) Jayne, DeDe (Charles) Rush, Blaine (Nicole) Mike, Tommy Joe Mike and Jonathan Mike. Three great grandchildren: Lauren and Emily Jayne, Ben Rush. One brother Hubert (Elaine) Irvin. Two sister-in-laws Rosella (Edwin) Boyd and Jerleen Irvin. Special aunt Ethel Ingle and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 8 pm Tuesday January 24th at Shumate Funeral Home with Dr. Chuck Summers and Dr. William Boyd Bingham III officiating. Music will be by the Meldrum Trio. The Family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday at Shumate Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday in the Green Hill Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Blaine Mike, Tommy Mike, Charles Rush and Larry Jayne.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Stanley Alexander, John Branham, Frank Earle, A.J. "Cotton" Rosenbalm, Robert Irvin, Bernie Ingle, C.J. Irvin, Matt Irvin, Michael Boyd and Dr. Neil Barry and his staff.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to First Baptist Church and Binghamtown Baptist Church.
