Glenn Dee Harris, 85, of Salem, VA, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.
Born in Greenup, Kentucky on June 28, 1936, to the late William Dee and Martha Arizona Martin Harris, Glenn is also preceded in death by his son, Phillip Dee Harris.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 35 years, Darlene Mae Harris, of Salem; daughters, Linda Mech, of Roanoke and Martha (Doug) Morgan, of Salem; step-daughter, Brenda (Hoke) Jones, of Salem; daughter-in-law, Rita Harris, of Shawsville; grandchildren, Natasha (Billy) Daugherty, Jamie (Jennifer) Harris, Phillip (Whitney) Harris, and Douglas Dee (Kathleen) Morgan; great-grandchildren, Emily, William, Addison, Abby, and Shepard; sister, Louise (Bunny) Traylor; special friend, Don Marshall; as well as many friends and extended family.
The family will welcome friends on Sunday, January 30, 2022, from 4-6 PM in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 6 PM with Pastor Jesse Bass officiating. Services will conclude graveside at 1 PM on Monday, January 31, 2022, at Captain George Quesenberry Cemetery, Macks Mountain Road, Indian Valley, Virginia.
