The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pacific Community Church in Bandon for John L. Rauschert of Bandon, who died Aug. 8 of age-related causes. He was 77.
He was born Aug. 30, 1931, in Bandon to Edward and Elsie Rauschert. He married Shirley Jean Redd on Nov. 22, 1951, in Roseburg.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He sold real estate and was a dairy farmer and 60-year union carpenter.
Survivors include sons Jim Rauschert of Junction City and Christopher Calbo of Coquille; a daughter, Missy Hagopian of Reedley, Calif.; a brother, Richard Rauschert of Lakeside; and six grandchildren. His wife died previously.

A celebration of the life will be held for John L. Rauschert, 77, of Bandon, at 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 13, at the Pacific Community Church in Bandon. Committal services with military honors will follow at the Denmark Cemetery in Langlois.
John was born Aug. 30, 1931, in Bandon, the son of Edward and Elsie (Clausen) Rauschert. He died Aug. 8, 2009, in Bandon.
He met and was married to Shirley Jean Redd of Winston on Nov. 22, 1951, in Roseburg. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War. After his discharge from the service they lived in Roseburg, Winston and Eugene before moving to Bandon, where they ran the Rauschert Ranch for his parents. They moved into Bandon in 1976 to the home John and their son, Jim, built. He was a 60-year member of the Carpenters Union and a dairy farmer.
He was and active member of the Pacific Community Church, always there, always helping. His greatest devotion was to his Lord Jesus Christ then his family as a loving husband, father and grandfather. His home was always open to missionaries and to family.
John is survived by his son, Jim and his wife, Toni Rauschert of Junction City; daughter, Missy and her husband, Mark Hagopian of Reedley, Calif.; son, Christopher Calbo of Coquille; brother, Richard Rauschert of Lakeside; sister-in-law, Linda Perine of Bandon; grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan, Cory, Kayla, Brad and Lisa along with several nieces, nephews and "adopted" children and grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Pacific Community Church, 48967 U.S. Highway 101, Bandon, OR 97411.
