Thomas Edward Sorrell is the second child and first son of Andrew Jackson Sorrell and Bertha Mae Lovell Sorrell. He is the brother of Lydia Ellen, John William, Goldie May and James Cleo Sorrell. Thomas married Maudie Mae Parrett Feb. 25, 1935 in Nowata County, Oklahoma. He is the father of Andy, James, Thomas, Jesse, Dewey, Bertha and Shirley Sorrell.

"THOMAS EDWARD SORRELL
Thomas Edward Sorrell, 84, died Wednesday morning, March 14, 1990 at his home NE of Newkirk.
Born August 20, 1905 at Chelsea, Oklahoma, he was the son of Andrew Jackson and Bertha (Lovell) Sorrell. He grew up and received his education at Chelsea, and after leaving high school he worked in the oilfields.
On February 25, 1935 he and Maudie Parrett were married at Nowata and they made their first home in and around Alluwe, Oklahoma. They moved to Sedan, Kansas in 1955 and he worked in the oilfields there until September 1956, when they moved to the Newkirk area where they have since resided. He worked for Chickasha Mobile Homes of Ponca City until his retirement in 1962. He was a member of the Church of God and he enjoyed reading Zane Gray western novels.
His survivors include his wife, Maudie, of the home; five sons, Andy Sorrell of Dewey, James Sorrell of Wetumka, Thomas Sorrell, Jesse Sorrell and Dewey Sorrell, all of Newkirk; one daughter, Mrs. Bertha Tull of Newkirk; one brother, J.C. Sorrell of Tulsa; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley, his parents, one brother, William, and one sister, Liddie.
Graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 16, 1990 in Newkirk Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Burrow, minister of Calvary Temple Pentecostal Church of God officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Miller-Stahl Funeral Service."
