She married Andrew Jackson Sorrell June 7, 1901 in Chelsea, Rogers Co, Oklahoma. She was the mother of Lydia Ellen,Thomas Edward,John William,Goldie May ( 1 day old )and James Cleo Sorrell.She was the grandmother of Thomas Edward Sorrell's children Andy, James, Thomas, Jesse,Dewey,Bertha and Shirley Sorrell. Velma Lea Sorrell daughter of John William. Her obituary reads: From the Chelsea Reporter, Chelsea, Oklahoma, September 30, 1965 Monday Rites for Mrs. Andy Sorrell at Christian Church. Services for Mrs. Andrew J. Sorrell, 78, resident of Chelsea community for some 70 years, were conducted Monday afternoon from the First Christian Church by the Rev. Harvey Hardin, Pastor of the Big Cabin Church. "What a Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Through Your Sins Be As Scarlet" were sung by Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Mitchell, Mrs. Robert W. Harrell, Mrs. Homer McMahan and Richard Billings with Mrs. Richard Billings at the organ. Casket bearers were Robert W. Brewer, C.L. Delozier, Paul R. Pixley, Kenneth Stroud, Homer McMahan and Roy Draeger. Interment was in Chelsea Cemetery under direction of the Paul Merriott Funeral Service. Mrs. Sorrell died Friday in a Vinita hospital following an extended illness. The former Bertha Mae Lovell was born Dec. 6, 1886 in Nevada, Missouri, the daughter of Ed and Martha Lovell. With her parents she came to the Chelsea community as a child. They had since make their home near and in Chelsea. Her husband died in 1963. Mrs. Sorrell was a member of the Christian Church. Surviving are three sons. Ed Sorrell of Arkansas City, Kansas, Bill Sorrell of Keifer and Cleo Sorrell of Tulsa. 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and a brother, Levi J.
