Mrs. Mildred Oleta Thornbrugh, 91, of Bartlesville, died at 2:40 A.M. on Saturday at the Heritage Villa Nursing center.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Thornbrugh will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday June 19th at the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Baker of First Baptist Church in Ramona and Rev. Jeff Wickham of the Humble Road Church officiating. Interment will be in the Martin Cemetery near Nowata under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Thornbrugh were her Grandsons, Don Williams, Curley Thornbrugh, Ricky Viles, Chuck Thornbrugh, Ryan Thornbrugh, Robert Hammond, Donald Viles and Danny Snider. Honorary Pallbearers were Charlie Williams, Justin Williams, Ronald Viles, Ronnie Thornbrugh and Ben Croffut.
Mildred was born March 26, 1921 at Old Alluwe in Nowata County to Clyde Edward and Liddy (Sorrell) Hagebusch. She grew up and received her education in Nowata county area.
She was married to James Edward (Fat) Thornbrugh on May 23, 1939 at Glenoak, Oklahoma, and to that union four children were born. She has been employed at Forrest Manor Nursing Home as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and later worked for the Dewey schools as a custodian. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church of Dewey. Mrs. Thornbrugh was founding member of the Dewey Breakers CB club, and the Washington County CB Club. She was a devout Christian, wife and mother dedicated to her husband and family. She also enjoyed sewing, was an excellent seamstress, and liked working with arts and crafts.
Mrs.Thornbrugh is survived by her four children; two daughters Mrs. Ellen Pearce and her husband Boyd of Eufaula Oklahoma, Mrs. Donna Viles and husband Richard of Ramona, Oklahoma, by two sons James Thornbrugh and wife Laura of Bartlesville, and Charles(Carty) Thornbrugh and wife Joy of Bartlesville, three sisters Margret Ashford of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Martha Brown and Carol Manley both of Nowata and one brother, Vernon Phillip Hagebusch of Dewey; by 20 Grandchildren, 46 Great-Grandchildren, and 35 Great-Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband James Edward (Fat) Thornbrugh, and by three brothers, and one sister and a grandson David E. Williams.
