Absalom Posey bought for 5 shillings(gift?)390 acres part of a tract of 640 acres granted to Dr. Nathaniel Abney, his father-in-law, by Gov. Benjamin Guerrad, Esq., 20 Jan 1785. This 640 acres located on the Broad River in Union Co., SC. Most likely that the Posey's are buried in the "lost" Abney Family Cemetery on the Farm, however, will place here until the Abney Cemetery is located or if we find the Posey Cemetery in Aiken Co thought to be located off the South Fork Edisto River near the Edgefield County line.
