Notes |
- Died Suddenly At Home In Blue Bayou Community Wednesday
Jord L. Watson, aged 76, died suddenly at his home in the Blue Bayou Community, Wednesday morning. He had been slightly ill for a few days, but was up and about his work the morning of his death. Funeral services were held at County Line Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. M. H. Peebles.
Mr. Watson was one of the best known and most successful farmers of the community and was for many years a leading public citizen of the section. He was one of those men who got his greatest pleasure in life out of his work of producing, and doing for others less fortunate without making a show.
He is survived by six children, Joe, John, and Grady Watson, all of this community; Mrs. Otis Venable of Nashville, Mrs. Ed Walston of New Hope, and Mrs. Jim Chambers of Hope, and a number of grand children and great grand children.
