William was a farmer and lived in the Belleville Community. He attended the Baptist Church. He served as the Justice of the Peace in Lincoln County, TN for several years. He owned his home and land (about 390 acres). In May 1979 the home was still standing, in good state of repair and was one of the prettiest locations in the village of Belleville. A portion of the original farm was then owned by the W.G. Thomas family including the old home place. Husband of Nancy Forrester.
